Week 17 (5 Dec - 11 Dec) - Construction Issues

Since last update of my blog, There are very less progress in my new house.
Unfortunately a few major construction errors have been found.
I am very unsatisfied with the construction management and progress.
Some of my concerning and request have been raised and sent to the builder.
I will update my blog once these issues have been solved.

Week 12 (31 Oct - 6 Nov) - Start Doing Brick Wall

Week 11 (24 Oct - 30 Oct) - No progress

There is no progress in this week.

Week 10 (17 Oct - 23 Oct) - No progress

There is not progress in this week.
However some construction errors have been found during site inspection:
In ground level, two drainage points were located from toilet and laundry wrongly to living room and family room.

Week 9 (10 Oct - 16 Oct 2011) - Internal plumbing and Windows

1 - Construction progress

•  Internal plumbing has been installed.
• All windows are in the position.
• External wall bricks have been delivered to site.

Week 8 (3 Oct - 9 Oct 2011) - Timber Framing in the 2nd Floor

1 - The invoice of the second progress claim was received and will be due next week
2 - The second floor timber frame has been set up.

Week 7 (26 Sep - 2 Oct 2011) - The first floor timber flame has been set up

Though it was raining time to time, the first floor timber flame had been setup on Friday (30-09-2011)

Week 7 - The First Progress Payment

20% of total amount for the first progress payment is due on Tuesday, 26 september 2011.

Week 6 (19 Sep - 25 Sep 2011) - Concrete Slab Completed

Concrete was poured on Monday, 19-09-2011.

Week 4 & 5 (5 Sep - 18 Sep 2011) - Piling and Formworks

Week 4 - Piling
The holes for piers started being drilled on Wednesday, 07 Sep 2011. In most of locations, sandstone was encountered. The depths of holes are mostly within 0.75m to 2.5m.
concrete was poured and completed before the end of the day.


Week 5
The formworks for concrete was installed from Wednesday, 14 September 2011.
All reinforcement in the slab were inspected against engineering drawings by myself on Saturday 17.09.11. (satisfactory)

Week 2 & 3 (22 Aug - 4 Sep 2011) - Site Levelling

Week 2
The fence for demolition was removed on Wednesday, 24 August 2011
The site was taken over and fenced by Masterton  on Friday 26 August 2011.
Prompt action, well done.



Week 3
Masterton started levelling the site.

Land After Levelling

Week 1 (15 Aug - 21 Aug 2011) - Demolition

Demolition of my old house was carried out by CJE, started on Monday, 15 Aug 2011, and completed on next Tuesday 23 Aug 2011.
As I was busy in my office this week, I didn't inspect the all works carefully.
Unfortunately some concrete blocks in a corner of my land were not removed properly.
It will not impact the construction of the new house.However it could leave me some hard works for the landscaping in the future.
